Ryanair Ditches Paper Passes and Airport Check-In
Ryanair’s CEO, Michael O’Leary, announced plans to remove paper boarding passes and airport check-in desks by May of 2025.
Passengers will soon be required to check in online or through Ryanair’s app before arriving at the airport.
Moving to Digital Check-In
Under this new plan, Ryanair aims to phase out all check-in desks at airports.
Travelers are strongly encouraged to use online check-in or the app to avoid a £55 charge for checking in at the airport.

O’Leary noted that with the removal of ticket desks, there would be no need for airport check-in charges.
App Usage to Become Mandatory
This change means that passengers without a smartphone will be unable to board a Ryanair flight.
