Before diving into drafting, it’s crucial to set up your CAD software to match the project’s requirements. 

Setting Units: 

• Use the UN command to specify architectural or engineering units.

  For example: 

• Engineering: Precision of 0'-0.0". 
• This setup is commonly used in AutoCAD for civil engineering full courses. 

Defining Limits: 

• Set screen boundaries with the LIMITS or LIMMAX commands. 
• For a residential plan requiring 100 ft x 100 ft, adjust the limits accordingly: 
• Lower-left corner: 0,0 
• Upper-right corner: 100,100
